USDA FoodData Central

The offline catalog contains 13,224 food and beverage records: 5,431 from FNDDS 2021–2023 (October 2024 release) and 7,793 from SR Legacy (April 2018). One record without nutrient values is excluded. Values use 100 grams of edible portion; source descriptions, releases and serving weights are retained. Fibre, total sugars and sodium are included only where the source provides a valid amount and unit; sodium is normalized to milligrams, and missing values stay unknown rather than zero. Common Czech aliases assist search, but the source names remain English. Different preparation variants are separate records, not a count of unique recipes.

Open Food Facts

After you explicitly scan a barcode, the backend can retrieve that product from Open Food Facts. Data are available under the Open Database License 1.0; individual contents under the Database Contents License. No product images are used. Community data may be inaccurate or incomplete: always check the package label. Missing or ambiguous gram-based nutrition falls back to manual entry.

Only the scanned barcode and a generic application identifier are sent by our backend; no account identifier, diary, photograph, health information or device identifier is sent. The source response is cached separately for up to 24 hours, with a one-hour negative cache. USDA search remains offline and sends no search text to Open Food Facts.

Original Open Food Facts database · Complete normalization algorithm (CC0). Open Food Facts data are not merged into the USDA database. Confirmed meals retain their source ID, dataset version and nutrient snapshot and are never silently recalculated following a catalog update.
